A tool to predict spontaneous preterm birth, incorporating fetal fibronectin and cervical length, in symptomatic women and high-risk asymptomatic women
The following User guide outlines exactly which clinical data is required to use the app and how to input the data accurately to produce the risk scores. Further details regarding the purpose, clinical setting and background of the app is found in “About the QUiPP app” pages.
By default the Symptomatic calculator will be displayed. To switch calculators, select the appropriate icon.
Select “Yes” or “No” for each of the relevant risk factors as described in the “About” section of the app.
Select the “Number of fetuses”.
Input gestation in weeks and days.
Enter fFN value (ng/ml) and/or shortest cervical length measurement (mm). If fFN is more than 500 on machine print-out, you can input a fFN of 500 for a comparable risk score.
You need to complete either the shortest cervical length or fFN result or both, to perform the calculation. If either one of the qfFN or cervical length fields are left empty, QUiPP will assume this measurement was not performed and calculate the risk without this value. If the fFN or cervical length measurements were zero, please enter 0.
Check you have entered data correctly.
Select “Calculate” to view % risk scores.
Select “Reset” to set all fields back to their defaults.
The woman’s % risk of delivery before 30/34/37 weeks and the % risk within 1/2/4 weeks will be displayed.
To see a visual representation of the risk select the chosen timeframe.
Select “New Episode” to clear all fields and reset to default to facilitate entry of data for a new clinical scenario. We recommend clearing data following use to reduce error.
Select the back arrow at the top of the screen to go back to the same episode’s data input to make modifications and recalculate from existing data inputted.
